Limited edition product. We worked with the New York-based illustrator, Joana Avillez, on our latest dutch oven collaboration. The dutch oven features two enameled panels, drawn by Joana and applied by hand. The 6-Quart Dutch Oven is made from cast iron. It has a nonreactive, easy-to-maintain enameled cooking surface, oversized loop handles, and an oven-safe stainless steel knob.

About Joana

Joana Avillez is an illustrator who grew up above the Fulton Fish Market in New York City. She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. Her illustrations can be found in the New Yorker, Vogue, Apartamento, and the New York Review of Books, among other places. Her illustrated edition of Joseph Mitchell’s The Bottom of the Harbor will be available through Penguin Random House in April 2026.

Food and Family

The illustrations that Joana prepared for our collaboration weave together memories she’s shared with her artist parents. Her father, her family’s primary cook, often made food from his native Portugal. Her mother has long collected miniature houses. Joana’s illustrations reimagine our dutch oven as a traditional Alentejo house, topped with a terracotta roof–in her characteristically cheeky style.
